Facing Adversity, Rejections & The Grind

During the horrifying coordinated terror attacks on Mumbai on the night of November 26, 2008, Pakistani terrorists Ajmal Kasab and Ismail Khan hijacked a police vehicle and sped through Girgaum Chowpatty, heavily armed with AK-47 assault rifles and hand grenades to slaughter more innocent citizens.

Stationed at a hastily erected barricade armed only with a wooden lathi, Omble threw himself directly in front of the terrorists' moving car. When Kasab rolled out and fired point-blank bursts, Omble charged directly into the gun barrel, grabbing the weapon and pinning Kasab to the ground with his bare hands while absorbing over forty bullets in his chest and abdomen, holding on until his fellow officers overpowered Kasab.
