Born in Dhalabari village in Jalpaiguri district, West Bengal, Karimul Haque worked as a humble tea garden laborer in a remote rural belt characterized by dirt tracks, flooded rivers, and complete absence of formal healthcare transportation.

THE STRUGGLE & HARDSHIPS

Facing Adversity, Rejections & The Grind

Decades ago, Haque's mother suffered a sudden medical crisis in the middle of the night. Because no vehicle could enter their roadless village, he was unable to transport her to the district hospital in time, and she passed away due to lack of timely oxygen and treatment, a trauma that haunted his conscience.

Landmark Works & Career Breakthrough

Refusing to let another villager suffer the same fate, Haque modified his own motorcycle with a custom seat and oxygen cylinder bracket to serve as a mobile ambulance. For thirty years, available 24 hours a day in monsoon rain or dense fog, he has ferried more than 4,000 critically ill villagers and pregnant women to medical centers completely free of charge.
